This is also a fight between the current English and Italian champions. Of course, in front of their own fans, the Citizens are expected to come out on top, but this won't be a walk in the park for Guardiola's men, who didn't look too fluent when beating Brentford by the narrowest of margins at the weekend. Manchester City made a successful start to the season. First, they won the Community Shield against Manchester United on penalties. The Skyblues have not taken their foot off the gas in the Premier League. They won their first 4 matches, against Chelsea (0-2), Ipswich Town (4-1), West Ham (1-3) and Brentford (2-1). Pep Guardiola's team are already alone at the top of the English league. They are now fully focused on the Champions League. Manchester City won't have a full squad for the return leg of the Champions League. Nathan Aké and Oscar Bobb will not be available for the match. However, Pep Guardiola can count on one of the strongest squads in world soccer. There are references in every position. Ruben Dias is always solid at the back, while Rodri is indispensable in midfield. Right up front, Kevin De Bruyne is the playmaker. He could well provide some of the goals in this match. And how can we not mention Erling Haaland? He's off to a great start again, with 9 goals in 4 Premier League games.
As for Inter Milan, Tajon Buchanan is out. Simone Inzaghi knows that his defense will have to pull out all the stops to repel the Mancunians' onslaught. Nerazzurri goalkeeper Yann Sommer will need to be at the top of his game. He will be able to count on Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni in front of him.
