One of the clashes on Matchday 2 of Ligue 1 takes place this Saturday morning. Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco face off at Groupama Stadium. After their impressive second half of last season, the Rhone-based club are determined to challenge for top spot in the French league. However, the Rhone club suffered a major setback in their opening game. Last weekend, Pierre Sage's team suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Stade Rennais (3-0).
Their next match promises to be no easier. AS Monaco finished 2nd in the last edition of Ligue 1. The club from the principality still expects to play a leading role in the new season. Adi Hütter's men managed to win their first match, against AS Saint-Étienne (1-0). Much more convincing than their next opponents, they will be keen to continue their fine start to the season at OL.
