For the third time this season, the Lakers face the Timberwolves and for the second time in a row at Target Field in Minnesota. On December 2, the Timberwolves held the Lakers to just 80 points in what was the worst offensive night of the Los Angeles team's season. Eleven days later, they return to the same court to face the same rival in a game where LeBron James is presumed not to be for the Lakers. However, the Lakers managed to win with the king's absence on Sunday against the Trail Blazers.
That last loss at the beginning of December against the Timberwolves was blamed on the fatigue of their stars, including LeBron James, but the context in the eyes of the bookies for the new clash seems to be the same, since as in December 2, the Wolves were favorites to beat the Lakers by 7.5 points, on Friday they will be again by the same difference. The Timberwolves however average two points per game less than the Lakers, play with a slow pace and are the worst team in the NBA at scoring Fast Break points per game.
