The Washington Nationals will try to extend their home win streak to four games today when they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the friendly confines of Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 6:45 p.m. EST.
Washington got a solid outing from left-hander Mackenzie Gore yesterday, with six innings of five-hit ball, seven strikeouts, and two earned runs (one walk). His lineup gave him plenty of support, starting with a pair of runs in the second and another in the third. The Dodgers tied things up briefly with two in the top of the first, but Washington’s run at the bottom of the inning gave them the lead for good. The Dodgers are calling up Justin Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City for the start. He appeared in eight games for the Dodgers last season, starting six and going 1-2 with a 5.70 ERA. Washington is going with reliever Brad Lord to start the game. He’s appeared in three games this season, gave up a hit and a run in two of them, and failed to record an out in one.
