The San Diego Padres (58-51) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (63-45) meet again tonight to finish their short 2 game series in San Diego. We were on the right-side last night as we rode Waldron and the Padres to victory, albeit in extra innings. Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the 9th, a pair of homeruns from Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill off Blake Treinen tied things up. In the 10th, Donovan Solano singled in Ha-Seong Kim to walk things off for the Padres. Tonight, we have Clayton Kershaw (0-0, 4.50) making just his 2nd start of the season after giving up 2 runs on 6 hits in his 1st game which came against the Giants. The Padres will go with Dylan Cease (10-8, 3.50) as they look to sweep this 2-game series. Cease is coming off an amazing no-hitter against the Washington Nationals on July 25. He fanned 9 batters and walked 3 while no-hitting the Nats. He and the Padres will look to win their 9th game out of their last 10 to close out the month of July in fashion and creep inside that 5-game mark behind these Dodgers in the NL West.

Clayton Kershaw has had one incredible career, however, he does not seem to be all the way back from injury just yet; and may never be 100% of what he once was. This Padres lineup is extremely potent and should be able to get to Kershaw early in this one. Cease could still be riding high from his no-hitter so we like the Padres to take this one like they did last night.
