LAFC faces Austin in Los Angeles this midweek after a thrilling El Trafico. As we predicted at SportyTrader, it was a back-and-forth game with plenty of goals. LAFC took a 2-0 lead before allowing 4 straight and handing their rivals a 7-point gap at the top of the table. The result was devastating for LAFC’s hopes of winning the Western Conference, but they still have a pair of games in hand. Two wins, such as one over the lowly Trees on Wednesday, could easily jump them right back into contention. LAFC has not won in the MLS in their return from the Leagues Cup, losing twice and drawing once. These two sides met in the Leagues Cup on August 7 in this same stadium, where LAFC emerged victorious 2-0. Austin managed to put up a whopping 20 shots in the loss, as LAFC sat back to defend their lead and earn a spot in the Round of 16.
