The Liberty Flames (23-6) head to Middle Tennessee State (20-9) tonight in a Conference USA battle. Both teams are fighting for one of the top spots for the conference tournament. This is important as the only way to get into the NCAA tournament for these teams will be by winning the conference tournament. The Flames have already defeated MTST back in early January. They jumped out to a 17-point lead at the half and never looked back as they won 73-63 at home. Despite being outrebounded 41-34, the Flames used efficient shooting to pick up the win. Most recently, they had a 6-game winning streak snapped by Kennesaw State at home on Sunday. They will need to shake that loss off here on the road against a surging Blue Raiders team. MTST has won 5 of their last 6 games and are currently on a 3-game winning streak. Those 3 wins have not come easy as they have won them by a total of just 10 points.
