Leo Borg, the son of Hall of Famer Bjorn Borg, will try to uphold his father’s legacy as he kicks start his campaign at the 2024 Stockholm Open against Alexandre Muller on Tuesday. Borg received a wild card entry into this ATP 250 tournament despite not participating in the Asian swing of the main tour. Ranked outside the ATP top 500, the 21-year-old Swede has played most of the year at Challenger and ITF tournaments. He had two solid results during his ITF campaign in Asia between August and September, winning the first phase of M25 Nakhon Si Thammarat and reaching the semis of the tournament’s second phase. After losing his first matches in Japan and Chengdu, Alexandre Muller came through with his best finish at the Shanghai Masters, reaching the round of 32. Muller posted a comeback win over Luca Nardi 4-6 6-1 6-1 and then came through with an upset win over No.18 seed Felix Auger Aliassime 6-3 6-2 in round 2.
