In the betting, no team will be more favourite in the Europa League in the eight games than Lazio to beat Plzen, after the epic game in the Czech Republic where the Roman team won 2-1 with two men less with a goal from Danish striker Isaksen in the 98th minute, who has had a recent series of good games under Baroni, thus making up for the absence of Taty Castellanos.
However, and despite the fact that Lazio in the Czech Republic cut a streak in which Plzen had won 10 of the last 12 at home before the first leg, Lazio will have to be careful not to get too confident for Thursday's game. In general, Baroni's team tends to get tangled up in close matches like the last one in Serie A against Udinese that ended 1-1 despite the fact that the eagles had started as favorites with odds of around -117 to win it on Matchday 28 of Serie A.
In the betting, after having led the league phase, and the excellent result of 2-1 in the first leg, Lazio placed itself as the second most favorite team to win this competition only surpassed by Tottenham, but displacing Manchester United to third position in terms of odds of lifting the Cup at San Mamés.

Lazio hasn't won a European trophy since they were able to do so in 1999, but with their eight wins in the 2024-2025 season, they have already equaled their highest number of victories ever in a continental tournament.
In Serie A, in an unpredictable tournament, Lazio sits in fifth place with 51 points, just one point behind Juventus, who hold the last spot that grants a spot in next season's Champions League. Lazio has a fairly good goal differential of +14 in the Italian league after 28 matches, with four players having scored six or more goals in the competition.
They have a key match against Bologna next Sunday, three days after facing Plzen, so it's possible Baroni will consider some arrangement or other to finish the Europa League race but maintain the advantage gained in the Czech Republic.
Although it seems unlikely that Plzen can overturn the tie against Lazio, it's important to remember that they were able to do so in the playoff stage. After losing in Hungary to Ferencvaros, they managed to score three goals in the second leg with a tremendous burst of attack, scoring three goals between the 27th and 38th minutes. However, this time the return leg will be away from home at the difficult Stadio Olimpico, and although Baroni's men could well look to extend their lead, they will keep their goal unopenable in the opening minutes of the match.

One player who appears to be enjoying a particularly sweet moment is Lazio's experienced Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli, who unexpectedly contributed a goal in the first win against Plzen and in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Udinese. Romagnoli was particularly strong in the first leg against the Czech team, where he lasted the final 15 minutes with a man down, a game Lazio won by making 52 clearances and 11 interceptions.
However, it's obvious that Lazio won't have a full squad for Thursday's clash, as Gigot and Rovella, who received red cards in the first leg, will miss the second leg. These absences are in addition to those of top scorer Castellanos, Nuno Tavares, and Hysaj, all due to injuries.
In attack for Plzen, Durosinmi is expected to accompany Sulc and Vydra.
