Luciano Darderi of Italy will try to keep on winning as he goes for another deep run at the 2025 BMW Open. The reigning Grand Prix Hassan champion will battle Jiri Lehecka of Czech Republic in an intriguing first-round matchup in Munich.
Darderi is coming off a swashbuckling run in Marrakech, capturing the Grand Prix Hassan II title by beating Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands 7-6(3) 7-6(4) in the final. The win handed Darderi his second title on the ATP Tour and first since ruling the Cordoba Open last year. Unfortunately, the Italian skipped the Monte Carlo Masters to allow his body to recover after a grueling tournament.
Lehecka has been on a slump since upsetting Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal of the 2025 Qatar Open. The Czech had gone 1-5 since that upset win, crashing out in the first round of his next three tournaments after Qatar before finally ending his win drought with a 6-3 7-6(7) win over Sebastian Korda in the first round at Monte Carlo.
