No.1 seed Jessica Pegula of the United States clashes with Iryna Shymanovich of Belarus in the second round of the 2025 Charleston Open.
Pegula is coming off another runner-up finish to world’s No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2025 Miami Open. Seeded No.1 at Charleston, Pegula joins the fray with an outstanding 20-6 record this year, winning 12 of her last 14 matches.
Shymanovich returns to the main tour after reaching the final of W50 Vacaria mid-March. The Belarusian has also rattled off three impressive wins in Charleston to arrange a date with the No.1 seed Pegula.
