Jessica Pegula of the United will square it off with fellow American Danielle Rose Collins for a place in the semifinal round of the 2025 Charleston Open on Friday.
Pegula bagged the 14th win of her last 16 matches, dismantling Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia 6-3 6-2. The American stamped her class, winning 81 percent of her first serves and breaking Tomljanovic four times on top of three aces. The win sent Pegula to her second straight semifinal appearance after reaching the final of the 2025 Miami Open last week.
Collins remains in contention for back-to-back Charleston Open titles after downing Jelena Ostapenko 7-5 6-3. Collins showed nerves of steel to outgun her Latvian foe in a thrilling first-set clash before hitting the gas pedal at the right time to pull away in the second set.
