Jessica Pegula of the United States will battle Anna Blinkova of Russia for a spot in the semifinal of the 2025 Austin Open. Pegula advanced to her third quarterfinals of the year with a 6-1 6-3 win over Nuria Parrizas-Diaz of Spain on Thursday. The American was simply on a higher class above her Spanish foe, as she dominated the exchanges by winning 90 percent of his first serves and capturing four breakpoints. Blinkova is also coming off a resounding win over Tatjana Maria of Germany 6-2 6-2. After staving off Mayoka Uchijima 4-6 6-4 6-0 in the first round, the Russian put together a sharper and stronger performance, winning 83 percent of her first serves while seizing five breakpoints. The win assured Blinkova her second quarterfinal this year after making in the last eight in Linz several weeks ago.
