On Thursday, during the early hours of the morning for those viewing stateside, there's Monte-Carlo Masters action between Jack Draper and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The British player, who is now ranked sixth in the world, has certainly been enjoying himself in 2025, improving rapidly, so much so that he took the title in Indian Wells, beating the likes of Taylor Fritz, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune to secure his third ATP success. However, that was on a hard surface. On clay, he's typically been less effective. 

In general, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina hasn't exactly been the most consistent clay-court player, but the Spaniard has enjoyed himself on the quite slow clay courts in Monte Carlo, reaching the final of this tournament in 2023, losing out to three-time winner Stefanos Tsitsipas. If he can repeat the level of form that he displayed at this venue a couple of years ago, then he may well be capable of going deep this week, starting by upsetting the odds against Draper.
