Italy are in perfect form in Group 2 of the Nations League A, in a difficult group where they will now host Belgium at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. The Italians were certainly pleased by the action in the Nations League after Switzerland's disappointing elimination from the Euro Cup. They beat France in Paris in the opening game, not being favourites to win with odds of up to 5.80, in a match where Inter's 25-year-old midfielder Frattesi stood out and earned a performance grade of 8.3. Adding points for the Italians could be important in order to win the group since after hosting Belgium they will play against Israel, who are bottom of the group, in Udine.
Belgium started off by beating Israel but three days later France dominated them in Lyon without much effort. This resulted in a series of frustrations for captain De Bruyne, who felt that some of his teammates had played with indifference against France.
For this reason, in an attempt to make some changes in search of alleviating the almost null results of the golden generation, De Bruyne and Lukako were not called by the coach, at least temporarily, in what is an attempt to lay the foundations for Belgium's future thinking about the 2026 World Cup.
