Houston (21-4, 13-1) brings a four-game winning streak into the game after beating Arizona 62-58 on Valentine’s Day. The Cougars were down 30-25 at the half but then outscored the Wildcats 37-28 in the second half to secure the win. It was another solid performance by the No. 1 defense in the country as Houston held Arizona to 37% shooting from the floor and 21.3% from three-point range, well below Arizona’s season averages. Arizona State (12-13, 3-11) is another case of a team that looked solid in non-conference play, only to crash and burn once conference play began. They got off to a 1-5 start, with the one win coming against Colorado (81-61). Their win over West Virginia showed some promise (65-57), but the Sun Devils went on to lose six of their next seven games. They haven’t won at home since Jan. 4 (81-61 over Colorado).
