The Nats left the city of Angels feeling contented after winning 2 of the 3 games in the series vs. the Dodgers. Washington, who are batting .231 with 66 runs this season, are now just 2 games below .500 after a 2-6 start to their season. Meanwhile, the Astros entered the 2024 MLB season with a lofty ambition of returning to the World Series after coming up short against the eventual champions Texas Rangers in a classic seven-game American League championship series. Unfortunately, the Astros fumbled right out of the gates as they found themselves at the bottom of AL West standings with a 6-14 slate. Although Houston is still up there with the best offensive teams as they are batting .268/.341/.423 with 87 runs, their pitching hasn’t delivered the goods so far.
