After five years of wait, Great Britain’s Harriet Dart gets another shot at making it into the round-of-16 of the Wimbledon Open on Saturday as she goes head-to-head with China’s Xinyu Wang in the third round of the ladies’ singles tourney at All England Club. Dart posted a straight sets win over China’s Zhuoxuan Bai 6-4, 6-0 before escaping compatriot Katie Boulter 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 in the second round. Dart has been scoring well off her first serves, scoring 70 of 92 opportunities or 76 per cent. She has held 87 of her serves in the past two games, indicating a very high service precision and control. Xinyu Wang, meanwhile, gutted out huge three-set wins over Victoriya Tomova of Hungary 7-6, 6-3, 6-0 and No.5 seed Jessica Pegula of the United States 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 to reach the round-of-32 of the grass-court Grand Slam. Wang eyes her second round-of-16 stint in a majors tournament after going all the way to the fourth round of last year’s US Open.
