ATP veteran Grigor Dimitrov will face American rising star Brandon Nakashima of the United States in round 4 of the 2025 Miami Open.
Dimitrov earned his ticket to the round of 16 following a hard-fought win over the Karen Khachanov of Russia 6-7(3) 6-4 7-5. A finalist at last year’s Miami Open, the Bulgarian banked on his experience to sneak weather off an upset bid from No.22 seed Khachanov. Dimitrov held 100 percent of his serves and captured two service breaks that made all the difference in the tight match.
Nakashima is through to round 4 with a three-set victory over David Goffin 6-3 6-7(5) 6-3. The American scored 13 aces won 84 percent of his first serves (53 out of 63) to fend off a spirited challenge from an upset-minded Goffin, who upset No.2 seed Carlos Alcaraz 5-7 6-4 6-3 in the second round.
