McCartney Kessler of the United States will attempt to book her second final appearance on the WTA Tour this year on Saturday, as she goes head-to-head with Greet Minnen of Belgium in the semis of the ATX Open. For the second day in a row, Kessler survived a grueling three-set match as six breakpoint conversions turned out to be the difference maker in beating Sorona Cirstea of Romania 5-7 6-4 6-1. Kessler, the 2025 Hobart International champion, also won 45 points on her first serves and 16 on her second to carve out her second comeback win. Minnen also had to overcome a strong challenge from Caroline Dolehide of the United States to book her slot in the semifinals. Minnen produced 37 points off her first serves and converted 4 of 9 breakpoint opportunities to beat Dolehide in straight sets 6-3 7-5. The win sent Minnen to her first semifinal this year and second in the last 15 months.

Our Greet Minnen vs McCartney Kessler Prediction
McCartney Kessler opened as the betting favorite at -175 mainly because she ranks higher at No.56, while Minnen sits at No.92 in the world rankings. However, I advise everyone not to sleep on Minnen because the Belgian enters the semifinal with an 81% service hold percentage in the tourney. She has been broken only six times in three matches and has saved 11 of 17 breakpoints. Fatigue could also play a crucial factor in this match. Kessler is coming off back-to-back three-set battles, increasing his total time on the court to six hours and 27 minutes. On the other hand, Minnen has only logged four hours and 30 minutes in this campaign, almost two hours fewer than the total court time Kessler spent on the court.
