Germany - Denmark: Form Analysis
Denmark are unbeaten in their last seven games and have lost just twice since the 2024 World Cup. Defence has been a key strength for the Danes, and they have conceded just four times in their last seven games. At the last European Championships, Denmark produced a stirring run to the quarter finals, beating Russia, Wales and the Czech Republic, before falling 2-1 to England in an epic semi final. Their best ever tournament performance came in 1992, when they defeated Germany 2-0 in the final to claim their only ever major trophy.
Germany are also unbeaten in their last seven games, winning five and drawing two of those fixtures. That run followed a dismal 2023 in which they lost six of their 11 matches, and an equally poor 2022 World Cup campaign which ended at the group stage. They also failed to impress at Euro 2020, crashing out 2-0 to England in the second round. However, they have won the tournament on three occasions, most recently in 1996.

Germany will be forced into making at least one change in defence. Centre half Jonathan Tah picked up two yellow cards in the group stage, so is suspended for one game. Meanwhile, Antonio Rudiger is carrying a minor thigh injury so will face a late fitness test. Nico Schlotterbeck seems certain to come in for Tah, whilst Waldemar Anton is on standby if Rudiger is unable to play. Niklas Fullkrug will once again have to settle for a place on the bench, despite scoring twice in the group stage.
