The Connecticut Huskies forge a Big East showdown with the Georgetown Hoyas on Wednesday, February 26, at the XL Center.

Once the preseason championship favorites, UConn (18-9) has been on lukewarm waters recently. They're 2-3 in the last five games and have lost to St. John's twice. Georgetown (16-11) also holds the same record in their last five matches.

A point of concern for UConn is the recent play of top cog Liam McNeeley. The Huskies leading scorer only shot 2-13 from the field in the 89-75 loss to St. John's. Moreover, McNeeley averaged 4.0 turnovers in the last three games.

Meanwhile, Hoyas' top bucket-getter Micah Peavy has scored at least 20 points in the last five games. On top of that, the 6-foot-7 wing had a combined 8-13 clip from the three-point line in the last couple of games.

However, Peavy might not get tons of perimeter space against the Huskies. UConn only allows opponents 18.0 three-point attempts per contest, ranking them 9th in the country. The Huskies' defense shuts down three-point attempts and forces opponents to drive to the paint instead.

Don't expect a high-scoring game between UConn and Georgetown. This might even be a close game that goes down the wire.
