SC Freiburg hosts VfL Bochum this weekend in their return from the international break. Only two games into the Bundesliga campaign, it is impossible to make any fair judgements on the potential of each team. Yet Freiburg’s 3-1 victory over title contender Stuttgart was certainly encouraging. They now have split wins and losses to begin the season. Bochum have lost both of their games to sit at the bottom of the table. One of their losses was to Leipzig 1-0 on the road, which is nothing to be shamed about. Bochum put up 10 shots, including 4 on target, yet failed to deliver the all-important final blow to at least earn a result. Now they must travel to Freiburg and attempt to limit a lethal offense. Until a visit to Allianz Arena, Freiburg had knocked off 4 straight games scoring multiple goals. That also ended a 4-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.
