On Wednesday, during the early afternoon for most US viewers, there's an intriguing contest taking place at the ATP event in Indian Wells, officially known as the BNP Paribas Open. We'll see Francisco Cerundolo take on Alex De Minaur, and not for the first time in 2025, with the pair meeting at the Australian Open back in January. 

Since losing to De Minaur at the Aussie Open a couple of months ago, the Argentine has done quite well, reaching the final of a clay-court event in Buenos Aires back in February, before winning four out of six further clay-court matches in Brazil and Chile. Such form has clearly given him a platform to do well on US soil, despite the switch back to hard courts, which seemingly hasn't had a negative effect. After a straight-set win during the previous round, Cerundolo, now ranked 26th in the world, will likely fancy himself to make life tough for his Australian opponent, who hasn't always been at his best against lower-ranked opponents in recent weeks, losing (in three sets) to veteran Marin Cilic in Dubai recently. An interesting match awaits.
