France - Spain: Form Analysis
France is on a mission in this tournament! It has been particularly solid since the start of the 2024 Olympic Games. In the group phase, Les Bleus left no room for suspense. They had no trouble finishing top of Group A, with 3 wins over the USA (3-0), Guinea (1-0) and New Zealand (0-3). The team coached by Thierry Henry now faced Argentina in the quarter-finals. After a very tense match, the Tricolore came out on top, thanks to an early goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta (1-0). The situation was more complicated in the semi-finals. Les Bleus had a scare against Egypt. They conceded their first goal of the competition just after the hour mark against the Egyptians. However, France managed to get back into the match, pulling off a comeback in extra time. They went on to win the game before the penalty shoot-out (3-1).
For their part, Spain had to be content with 2nd place in Group C. After opening with 2 wins over Uzbekistan (1-2) and the Dominican Republic (1-3), they fell to Egypt (1-2) on their final day. Santiago Denia's men went from strength to strength in the quarter-finals, easily beating Japan (0-3). They then had to pull out all the stops against Morocco to book their ticket to the final. Trailing at half-time, the Spanish team turned the tide after the break (1-2). Their victory means they are certain to finish on the podium at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Thierry Henry will have no absentees whatsoever for this final match. He can count on the return of Manu Koné and Enzo Millot, who were suspended in the semi-finals. France's squad for the 2024 Olympics is of the highest quality. Michael Olise, in particular, will be closely watched. The new Bayern Munich player is undoubtedly one of the best of the tournament. He scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists in his first 5 games. Jean-Philippe Mateta is also in fine form, with 4 goals to his name. He scored twice in the previous round, against Egypt. Alexandre Lacazette, author of 1 goal and 1 assist, will be keen to add to his tally in the final. Guillaume Restes and Loïc Badé are also in fine form in the French rearguard.
However, it's not just anyone who will face Les Bleus. Spain have also called up some excellent players for the tournament. It's hard not to start with Fermin Lopez. The FC Barcelona talent is in top form, with 4 goals and 1 assist. He was a key figure in the semi-final, being involved in Spain's 2 goals. Santiago Denia also relies on PSG goalkeeper Arnau Tenas. He will be playing in a stadium he knows well: the Parc des Princes. Last but not least, the Eric Garcia - Pau Cubarsi team will certainly have their work cut out for them in this final. Forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has earned lots of respect at this tournament and rightly so as he's scored four goals, but we really should not forget about Michael Olise, who has arguably been France's best player. The tricky forward/winger has pulled the strings for Thierry Henry's men, registering four assists and two goals. This will be a tough game, for sure, but at the odds available, it's worth betting that the 22-year-old, who recently joined German giants Bayern Munich, makes his mark in the final by finding the net.
Having not scored since the opening game, Olise got back to beating the keeper in that semi-final against Egypt, while he looked very hungry, taking no less than seven shots. To be honest, on another day, he would've had a hat-trick. He'll certainly be looking to create for others in this game, as he has all tournament, but he'll absolutely want some personal glory, so don't be surprised if he's hungry for goals.
