How about a 2nd Olympic title for France in this men's volleyball tournament? After being crowned champions in 2021, they're back in the final, three years later, this time in front of their home fans. Les Bleus are clearly on the rise in this tournament. In the group phase, they needed 5 sets to win their opening match against Serbia. They then went on to win in 3 sets against Canada. Andrea Giani's team had to be content with 2nd place in Group A, however, after losing to Slovenia in 5 sets. In the quarter-finals, they were 2-0 down against Germany. Nevertheless, Earvin Ngapeth's team-mates raised their game and came through in 5 sets. And what about their semi-final against Italy? They played a perfect match, not dropping a single set to one of the tournament's big favorites.

Poland now face France in the final of the tournament. Like France, Poland failed to finish in 1st place in their group. After wins over Egypt (3-0) and Brazil (3-2), they lost to Italy on the final day of the group phase (1-3). However, the Polish team put on a much better show in the quarter-finals, beating Slovenia (1-3). They then overturned a 2-1 deficit against the United States. Poland may find it a little more to difficult  to compete against France, who will have the whole crowd behind them.
