In Thursday's Europa League betting, no team is more likely to win on the road than Lyon against FCSB Bucharest in Romania. The arrival of new Portuguese manager Fonseca brought with it the first wins of 2025, since Fonseca took over the post he has won 3 of 5 games, but this will be his first European game with his new team.
Although the Romanian league champions and current leaders are strong at the Arena Nationala, certain data seem to suggest that Lyon could well win on the road. Firstly, they have a good away record in UEFA competitions such as when they eliminated Juventus with away goals in 2019-2020, they are unbeaten in their last 11 Europa League games on the road and that's not to mention that FCSB Bucharest have a number of very important injuries for next Thursday's clash.
Lyon remains in the top 8 of the betting odds for the Europa League, while only Plzen and Bodo/Glimt have higher odds to win it all than FCSB Bucharest.

The Romanian champions had a very good Europa League campaign, but it was not enough to secure their direct passage to the round of 16. In the qualifying round they had to fight against Greek side PAOK, who they beat in the first and second legs by a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
It was, in short, a surprising result for the bookmakers, especially the one that took place in Greece, where FCSB Bucharest won and took advantage of the numerical superiority they had in the second half to turn the match around against PAOK and made the betting sites pay a rate of around 5.00 for their victory.
