After Galatasaray's defeat to AZ, Fenerbahce are now the only representatives of the Turkish Super League in Europe, having eliminated Belgian side Anderlecht in a tie that Mourinho's side sealed in the first leg by winning 3-0 in Istanbul with goals from the experienced Tadic, Dzeko and En-Nesyri.
Fenerbahce qualified as low as 24th in the league phase, but Mourinho's side look much better put together in March than they did when the season started in August. In the midst of an unbeaten run dating back to last December, the Turkish club will be heavily favoured to beat Rangers in the first leg, so much so that they will be given odds of around -153. They are probably the ideal opponent for Fenerbahce, having never lost to a Scottish club in their history.
While Mourinho's Fenerbahce, built with well-known European football legends, seems to have found its style, Rangers are coming in with a new manager. For Barry Ferguson, the next European match will be his third, after they won 4-2 against Kilmarnock, but had a bitter debut at Ibrox Stadium, losing 1-2 against Motherwell when, with odds as low as -833, Rangers had started as favourites to win it in the 29th round of the Scottish competition.

Fenerbahce Istanbul - Rangers: Form Analysis
Former Rangers player Barry Ferguson has taken over as manager with Celtic 16 points ahead of them in the Premiership. Getting through this tie may mean a lot to Rangers, but it also seems unlikely given that in the last 11 UEFA round of 16 knockout stages Rangers have only progressed from two.

The Portuguese coach's management has not been free of controversy, in what now seems to be a style, and while he was not on the bench in the last match of the Turkish Super League, as he must serve a domestic suspension, Mourinho will be directly in charge of his team on Thursday in Scotland.

Even with the apparent advantage of playing in Istanbul, Mourinho will have to shuffle a team that has to cope with up to 9 casualties. Fenerbahce is clinging to the result, especially if it is winning, which has caused it to receive multiple cards and accumulate them; Fred and Osayi-Samuel will miss the next game. These are two absences that add to the injuries, among which stand out Oosterwold, Becao and Diego Carlos.
However, the Portuguese coach will count on En-Nesyri; the Moroccan has become a key piece of the team and the top scorer in all competitions with 26 goals, while the always useful Tadic and Dzeko will be attentive to help in attack as they did against the Belgian team in the last tie.
On the other hand, for the Scottish team, it is likely that Barron and Nedim Bajrami will both start in the midfield after having come on as substitutes at the weekend. Dessers did not have a good last league game, but he did in the previous one against Kilmarnock, where he scored two goals.
