My guess would be that he's not much shorter in the betting because this is his first match back on clay, but he only played four grass-court matches, meaning that he's only been away from the clay-court game for a month or so. I think that slight absence is being given too much importance by the early market. Aguer Aliassime is a very good clay-court player, one who is clearly and rather obviously superior to Hanfmann, who struggles massively for consistency on this surface. If we consider how strongly the Canadian has performed in relatively recent clay-court matches against lower-ranked players then he just looks generously priced to win by a margin of at least four games, something that he's regularly done against opponents of Hanfmann's ilk.
