The Tigers' Mize couldn't prevent the Twins from taking Game 3 of the series on Sunday, a game they lost 1-5, but where Torkelson continued his hot start by hitting his 5th home run of the season in the 4th inning. The Brewers blew a 4-0 lead in the final inning against the Diamondbacks and inexplicably went on to lose 4-5. Then, on Sunday, the Diamondbacks also went on to win Game 3, 2-5, against the Diamondbacks. On Sunday, the Brewers struck out 11 and went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
The Tigers will be heavy favorites at odds of around -165 to win Game 1, only due to the presence of Skubal, who, however, in 2025 is 1-2 with a 3.78 ERA.
