DC United vs Sporting Kansas City Prediction & Picks - Major League Soccer

Two teams that are both looking to pick up their first wins of the 2025 Major League Soccer season will clash at Audi Field on Saturday evening, with DC United hosting Sporting Kansas City. Interestingly, the visitors haven't won in Washington D.C. since 2013. Can they change that here? 

For the hosts, the new season has started in rather mild fashion. First time out, Troy Lesesne's men tied at home with Toronto, offering a decent amount in the final third, scoring two goals, but also conceding lots at the back, as was the case last season. Much of the same can be said for their second league fixture of the season, which also finished 2-2. With someone like Christian Benteke leading their offensive line, we know that DC will hurt teams, but the question is can they defend well enough? The early signs suggest they can't. 

Last season went badly for SKC, and so far, the signs of improvement are limited, with Saturday's visitors losing two out of two at the start of the 2025 campaign. They did score their first goal of the season last weekend, and if they can continue to feed off-season signing Dejan Joveljic, then they ought to findd themselves scoring more goals, which would certainly aid their cause. Let's seehow they get on attempting to breach what is typically a weak DC defense.
