The Dayton Flyers (25-7 SU, 17-15 ATS) attempt to follow up their brilliant comeback against Nevada by facing the Arizona Wildcats (26-8 SU, 21-11-2 ATS). The Flyers seem to have the blueprint for beating Arizona by slowing the game down, but there’s a real question as to whether they have anything left. The Flyers used up a lot of energy in overcoming a 17-point deficit against the Wolf Pack, and they’ve had virtually no recovery time since Thursday.
Against Arizona, that can be a death sentence. The Wildcats love to run and will force the pace from the beginning here. The Flyers didn’t look great for most of the game against Nevada, and another slow start would mean doom against this opponent.

Dayton seems to be running out of gas overall. The Flyers gave a brilliant effort over the final seven minutes against Nevada, but they didn’t look great until they really got desperate. Arizona should be able to dictate the tempo, and when Arizona dictates the tempo, the Wildcats are incredibly difficult to beat.
The Wildcats got Pelle Larsson and Keshad Johnson some rest against Long Beach, and that should make a difference against the Flyers. Arizona knows what it needs to do and has the extra advantage of playing at altitude. Not only are the Wildcats familiar with playing in Salt Lake City from sharing a league with Utah, but their style naturally plays into the elevation and Dayton’s fatigue.
