Cruz Azul and Tigres UANL go into the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup semi final with the tie delicately poised following last week's tense 1-1 first leg draw. Azul took the lead midway through the second half of that game, thanks to a fine strike from Carlos Rotondi, but Cruz Azul struck back late on through Juanjo Purata. There were late chances for both sides, but the game finished all square and the scene is now set for a blockbuster second leg.
Remarkably, the two teams are only separated by goal difference in the Liga MX standings, with Cruz Azul in third place and Tigres one spot behind them. Given that fact, plus the close nature of the first leg, there is every chance that this game could go all the way to extra time and even penalties.

Cruz Azul welcome Lorenzo Faravelli back into their starting lineup after the Argentinian missed the first leg through suspension. The midfielder's return means that Erik Lira is likely to drop to the bench.
