The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to bounce back from disastrous series over the weekend when they begin a softer three-game series against the struggling Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium starting Monday.
Hampered with injuries, the Dodgers fell to 11-6 in the season after absorbing back-to-back losses to the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers’ pitching has floundered in the past 5 games, giving a 6.75 ERA with at least two home runs per game. What’s worse is the Dodgers’ offense also hit the wall after a red-hot start, averaging 2.7 runs per game on a .212 batting average in that stretch.
As expected, the Rockies lost all their three games in their weekend series with the San Diego Padres. Colorado walks into the series with the Dodgers with horrendous statistical numbers on offense and defense. The Rockies are batting .218 with 40 runs and pitching a 5.02 ERA.
