The Braves (76-63) are clinging to a 0.5-game lead over the New York Mets (76-64) as their season-long battle for one of the four Wild Card spots in the NL is now reaching its climax. The Rockies absorbed their fifth loss in six games on Thursday after another subpar showing from their pitching staff. Sporting a 4.60 ERA in their last 10 games and 5.52 in the season, Colorado would have to make several moves via trade or free agency to shore up the caliber of their pitching corps next season.
