After holding off North Dakota State on opening week, the Colorado Buffaloes head to Lincoln to go up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday at the Memorial Stadium. Colorado opened their second season under head coach Deion Sanders with a 31-26 over North Dakota State. The head coach’s son, Shedeur Sanders, shredded North Dakota State’s defense like paper, passing for 445 yards on 76 percent completion with four touchdowns and one interception. Buffaloes’ defense is a work in progress though. Colorado could not prevent their opponent from scoring a touchdown in three of the four quarters, keeping the Bisons within striking distance with plenty of minutes to play. On the other hand, Nebraska demolished UTEP 40-7 behind Dylan Raiola, who covered 238 yards with two touchdowns. Running back Emitt Johnson ran for 71 yards on 8 carries while wide receiver Isaiah Neyor covered 121 yards on six receptions. Nebraska finished second to the last in the West Division of the Big 10 last season with a 3-6 record (5-7 overall).

The Buffaloes will continue to be a force offensively regardless of their opponents, as long Shedeur Sanders keeps finding his wideouts downfield. My biggest concern about them however is their defense, which allowed an FCS team to score 26 points. Can they stop Nebraska from scoring more than 30 points in this match? Honestly, I am not confident they can. The Cornhuskers decimated UTEP's offense in the season-opener, surrendering just 7 points in that game. Moreover, Nebraska, especially the players from last season, will have some personal motivation to make a statement victory against Colorado, who stunned them 14-36 in Week 2 last year.
