Two of the winningest programs in College Football Playoff history clash on opening week as the Georgia Bulldogs play host to the Clemson Tigers on Friday at Mercedez Benz Stadium. The Bulldogs, who won two consecutive national titles in 2022 and 2023, will enter the season as the No.1 ranked program in the nation after securing a commitment from a bunch of blue-chip prospects, including five-star recruits such as cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, safety KJ Bolden and outside linebacker Justin Williams. Georgia should expect continued stability behind their offensive line with quarterback Carson Beck returning for his senior season, and he will have quality weapons downfield. Wide receivers Dominic Lovett and Colbie Young will also return for their final season of eligibility, hoping staying one more year in college will lead to a National Title at the end of the season. Also, a two-time college football champion, the Tigers crouch into the new season looking to end the program's four-year title drought. Clemson expects a better season from quarterback Cade Klubnik, who returns for his junior season. Klubnik covered 2,844 yards on 63% completion with 19 touchdowns. The only knack on him are the nine interceptions he committed in 2023 and a mediocre quarterback rating of 55.0 – which ranks 80th in the nation.
