The Mets are once again on an absolutely hot streak, winning 9 straight games. They were the favorites in 8 of those victories and will be once again when they play the Reds again early in Queens, whom they shut out in Game 1 of the series and beat 4-0.

Lindor continues to lead the offense, although his 16-game hitting streak ended last game when he went 0-for-3 on Saturday, but with the walk he got his streak of 35 consecutive games reaching first base still stands. They got through an important first game, as the Reds have a good record of 28-18 in Game 1 of series, but a 20-25 record in Game 2.

Another factor in the Mets' hot streak has been their efficient defense, particularly the duo of Lindor and Iglesias was effective in turning two key double plays. Iglesias will keep the Mets' second base position now that McNeil will miss the rest of the regular season.

The ghost of inconsistency continues to haunt the Reds, who after sweeping the Astros with plenty of hitting once again have an offensive slump that takes away their momentum.

The Mets are very adept at winning in Game 2 of a series when they already won Game 1, as they have a 17-9 record in those cases.
