Both Midwest teams have performed as expected, with the Brewers holding up their end of the bargain at 40-28 on the year. Cincinnati was projected around .500 to end the season and they are 33-35 at the moment, just a game away from where most would have them. That margin is likely to grow larger, however, as they enter Friday night the underdog. Cincinnati will be led by Hunter Greene, a 4-2 starter with a 3.61 ERA. His counterpart is Freddy Peralta of Milwaukee, whose 4-3 record and 3.95 ERA has remained steady this season. The same cannot be said for his dancing partners, as 8 Brewers pitchers are currently nursing injuries. Indeed, only Peralta and Rea are left standing from their Opening Day rotation.
