Winless in their first three games, Mazatlan will be looking to right the ship Saturday night as they visit Chivas. Guadalajara have finished in the top 6 in the last two seasons, despite having a goal differential of just +7 in that span. Mazatlan were less fortunate, finishing 14th last Clausura. Chivas’ last outing was a 2-0 win on the road at Queretaro on Tuesday. Cade Cowell scored another goal this season, making it 3 goal contributions in 3 games already in Apertura. The 20-year-old American is showing promise quickly, and could feature for the international team more moving forward. Mazatlan were blanked by Toluca 3-0 on the road, managing just 2 shots on target. Their opponents are threatening to win it all this year with an unbeaten start to the year, making an away loss to them a bit less shameful. Hopefully Mazatlan can muster a result on Saturday though, or else fans will get restless.
