The Orioles have kept on rolling in the AL East, having captured their seventh win in their last 10 games after a 6-3 victory in the series finale against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. Winning that many games in the past two weeks has helped the 57-33 Baltimore pad their lead over the 55-37 New York Yankees to three games. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs have also gained a bit of momentum this past week after winning three of their last four games. With a 42-49 record, the Cubs are nowhere near the top spot of the NL Central standings but taking a game or two from this series against an emerging World Series contender like the Orioles will certainly bolster their morale moving forward.
