Week six of the Major League Soccer season arrives on Saturday with the 2-2-1 Charlotte FC welcoming 3-0-2 FC Cincinnati to Bank of America Stadium. Charlotte has won both of their home games so far this season, beating New York 1-0 in their home opener and then the Columbus Crew 2-0. The win over Columbus was in an eventful game, the Crew reduced to 10 men midway through the first half but still contributed plenty to a game that saw goals disallowed for both teams and a missed penalty for Charlotte. They face another tough task hosting the best team in the East but that win will have given them some confidence. 

The 69 points that FC Cincinnati produced in the regular season in 2023 were comfortably the most in the league. They could not find a way past the Columbus Crew in the Eastern Conference Finals, however, to end their season on a flat note. They are top again in the early weeks of this season, unbeaten so far, keeping a clean sheet in each of their three home games but only scoring a single goal at home. 2/2 on the road at the Chicago Fire and the New England Revolution has put the points on the board, but those are teams they should be beating with ease. Luciano Acosta continues to lead the team from the front, the reigning MVP has scored twice this season and provided two assists as well so he has played a huge part in four of the five goals that Cincinnati have scored this season.
