Gameweek two of the 2025 Major League Soccer season takes place this weekend, when a whole host of top-tier soccer venues around the US will be called into action, one of which will be Bank of America Stadium, the home of Charlotte FC. Can the hosts pick up their first win of the season following their tie in Seattle last weekend?
For Dean Smith and Charlotte FC, the opening weekend wasn't a terrible one, with them tying in Seattle. After all, Lumen Field is a tricky place to go, so the fact that they made offensive headway and came away with something to show for their efforts is definitely a plus. However, Smith likely won't be pleased with the number of chances (and goals) that his team surrendered. The English boss will be looking for a tighter effort now back on home soil, though stiffening up against a new-look and free-flowing Atlanta team won't be easy.
With the returning Miguel Almiron and new signing Latte Lath thriving, the Five Stripes got the job done first time out, scoring three goals and creating a very positive offensive impression on their way to beat Montreal in front of a home crowd.
