Carlos Alcaraz of Spain will take on Luca Nardi of Italy in the second round of the 2025 ATP Qatar Open. Alcaraz remains on the hunt for a back-to-back ATP title after he vanquished the veteran Marin Cilic in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. The newly-crowned Rotterdam champion had to overcome some early-round rust and a boatload of errors to beat the former US Open champion. Alcaraz generated 26 points off his first serves and converted three break points to secure the win. Nardi has won three straight matches to notch a place in the round of 16 at the Qatar Open. The Italian defeated Chinese veteran Zhang Zhizhen 6-4 6-3 to arrange a duel with the four-time Grand Slam winner. Nardi conceded only one service break and collected 29 points off his first serves, keeping the Chinse at bay throughout the match.

Our Carlos Alcaraz vs Luca Nardi Prediction
This is the first time Nardi will get to play Carlos Alcaraz on the ATP Tour. The 20-year-old Italian ranks No.86 in the world and has a 62.1 percent win rate on hard courts. He also boasts a win over Novak Djokovic, beating the 24-time Grand Slam winner 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 in the third round of the 2024 Indian Wells Open. We all know that, barring a major collapse, Alcaraz will definitely win and advance to the quarterfinal round on Wednesday. However, a 6.5-game handicap on Alcaraz might be too much for him to cover because Nardi can actually play. He might not be there on the elite level yet, but Nardi has the tools to take a few games from Alcaraz. He has held 86 percent of his serves across three matches, which indicates his ability to convert efficiently while on serve. Our betting prediction for Carlos Alcaraz vs. Luca Nardi: Luca Nardi will cover +6.5 games.
