Carlos Alcaraz of Spain will try to inch closer to another ATP title as he battles Jiri Lehecka of Czech Republic on Thursday for a spot in the semifinal of the 2025 Qatar Open. For the second straight match, Alcaraz was challenged but still good enough to advance into the next round of competition, outgunning Luca Nardi of Italy 6-1 4-6 6-3 on Wednesday. The Spaniard wrapped up the first set in seven games but blew a 4-1 lead in the second set that cost him a chance to finish off Nardi in two sets. Sensing danger, Alcaraz stormed to another 4-1 lead in the third set, but this time he managed to hold all of his remaining serves to win the match. Lehecka blasted Fabian Maroszan of Hungary 6-2, 6-2 to advance into the quarterfinals of the Qatar Open. Lehecka reached the quarterfinal for the first time since winning the Brisbane International in early January. The Czech managed to hold serve throughout the entire match and earned three key breakpoint conversions.

Our Carlos Alcaraz vs Jiri Lehecka Prediction
Alcaraz secured his spot in the quarterfinal of the Qatar Open despite showing signs of vulnerability in his last two matches. He can’t afford to show up without bringing his A-game on Thursday because Lehecka can play at a high level. The Czech has a 4-9 record against top-5 players and 6-17 slate against the top-10 on the ATP Tour. Alcaraz might still be too good for Lehecka in the end, but I expect the Czech to give him a lot of headaches in this duel. Our betting prediction for Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jiri Lehecka: Jiri Lehecka will cover +3.5 games.
