Brest fans have been waiting with bated breath! After having beaten the odds in the last Ligue 1 season, the Brest-based club has qualified for this new edition of the Champions League. They will be taking part in this brand-new format on Matchday 1, when they host Sturm Graz. The match will be played at Guingamp's Stade de Roudourou on Thursday at 3:00 pm EST. Eric Roy's team are struggling to get off to a good start in Ligue 1. However, they hope to take advantage of the arrival of Europe to get back on track.
Sturm Graz, however, arrive with big ambitions. Winners of the Austrian Bundesliga last season, they're off to a flying start. The Austrian club have already taken command of their domestic league after the first 5 rounds. Christian Ilzer's men will be keen to follow this up in Europe's premier club competition. They arrive in France with the firm intention of getting a result.

It's been a complicated start to the season for Stade Brestois. After a fine 2nd place last season, they now seem to be struggling a little more.
