After a disappointing trip to Chicago over the weekend, the Boston Red Sox are in Florida for a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays. Game Two of the series gets underway today at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa at 7:05 pm EST on Tuesday, April 15.
Sunday's 3-1 win over the White Sox was just the second win for Boston in the team's last seven games. Left-hander Garrett Crochet tossed 7 1/3 innings of one-hit ball, giving up a single run and hitting out 11. Shortstop Trevor Story recorded three RBI on the day, two via a sixth-inning double and the third a ninth-inning solo shot to left-center field. As for Tampa Bay, the Rays are also coming off a win Sunday, 8-3 over the Braves at home. It was their third win out of their last ten games.
Boston will give the ball to Walker Buehler to start the day. The right-hander is coming off his best start of the season against Toronto, going 6 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and a run while striking out seven. Tampa Bay is expected to start Ryan Pepiot, who has had control issues in his last two starts, lasting only five innings in each and walking three.

Walker Buehler is a capable pitcher, and if his last start is any indication, he may be returning to form. But if the Rays' lineup gets in the same zone it was in during Game One (16 hits including four homeruns and 16 runs), Buehler is in for a long day (until he gets pulled, of course). Pepiot looked better in his first two starts of the season; he could be just what the Red Sox lineup needs to wake up. I'm not going to be surprised if they do just that.
