Orlando Magic (39-40) will be looking to get over the line when they face Boston Celtics (59-20) in the Eastern Conference on Wednesday night. The Magic needed to dig deep in the play-in tournament to fend off competition from the Hawks, Bulls, and Heat. As it stands, they are two games ahead of the eighth-placed Atlanta Hawks and a win against Boston will all but confirm their postseason participation. They play the Pacers and the Hawks in their remaining games.
Boston Celtics lost the battle to get the No. 1 seed in the conference to the Cavaliers. The reigning champions went on a bull run late in the season to reduce the gap between them and the Cavs to just 4.0 games. However, that was never going to be good enough after the Celtics defeated the Bulls on Tuesday night to secure the No. 1 seed and give the Magic a helping hand. However, Joe Mazzula will be keen to ensure they carry the winning momentum into the postseason.
