Eastern Conference rivals will meet for the third time on Friday. The Miami Heat will host the Boston Celtics at Kaseya Center to try to end their five-game losing streak.
The Heat are trying to stay in a frantic race for the remaining playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Right now, things aren’t looking good for Miami, who are sitting at No.9 with a 29-36 record. Andrew Wiggins, the centerpiece of the trade package the Heat received from Golden State in exchange for Jimmy Butler, has put up solid numbers in the past three games. In the Heat’s recent loss to the Clippers, Wiggins shot 9 for 22 from the field to score 22 points. Tyler Herro finished with a game-high 31 points.
The Celtics are eager to regain their winning form after bowing to the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-118 in a potential NBA finals preview. Jayson Tatum was fired for 33 points, and Derrick White backed him up with 22. The Celtics knocked down 20 treys, though they took 60 attempts to do it (31.7 3PT%).
