Ben Shelton of the United States will try to arrest a three-match losing streak against Borna Gojo in Monday’s first round of the 2025 BMW Munich Open.
Shelton has been on a mini-slump since reaching the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Indian Wells Open. The American dropped his quarterfinal duel with eventual Indian Wells champion Jack Draper 6-4 7-5 before crashing out in the first round in Miami and Monte Carlo against Chak Lam Coleman Wong of Hongkong 7-6(3) 2-6 7-6(5) and Alejandro Fokina 6-7(2) 6-2 6-1, respectively.
Gojo made it to the main draw of the BMW Open after downing Germany’s Daniel Musur 6-3 7-6(6) and Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko 6-4 6-4 in the qualifier. Ranked 410th in the world, the 27-year-old Gojo is setting his sight on the biggest win of his career in Monday’s match with the Australian Open semifinalist Shelton.
